◎Announcement of Christmas Craft Market◎

UMIYAMA GALLERY Information December 20th - 24th

Kamakura textile research institute Casa de paño will be holding a special winter event, "Christmas Craft Market," at UMIYAMA GALLERY in Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden.

During the Christmas season, Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden is transformed into a gorgeous space with illuminations that sparkle in the clear winter air and tulips at night.

Whether you live nearby but have never visited, or live a little further away,
We hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy the craft market along with the beautiful illuminations.
We look forward to your visit at UMIYAMA GALLERY.

Winter gifts that are perfect as presents or as a treat for yourself are coming to Enoshima.
There is a wide selection of items to make your winter stay more enjoyable, including cloth accessories, mobiles, Christmas cards, seasonal baked goods, and a selection of books with a sea theme.
We will also be holding workshops (advance reservations required) that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike, such as making Christmas tapestries using woven fabric.
Come and find a special gift filled with winter joy, while also enjoying meeting craftspeople with ties to the Shonan area.

As related events, we will be holding a "Weaving Workshop to Make Tapestries from Thinned Cedar" and a "Workshop to Decorate Rabbit Stuffed Animals."

This workshop is perfect for the holiday season and can be enjoyed by both adults and children. Please feel free to join us.

Weaving the Forest: A Special Winter Workshop

This tapestry is woven using branches and leaves of Shiramine cedar delivered from Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and is enveloped in the fragrance. It is a sustainable craft that will leave a soft forest scent even after you display it in your home.

Let's upcycle discarded branches and leaves, as well as scraps of fabric with Shonan flower motifs, and create greenery together that can be used to decorate your room for Christmas and New Year!

Stylish winter rabbit styling

Participants will freely combine various materials, including scraps from textile designer Nakazawa Kaede, unique buttons and ribbons, to create rabbit capes, earrings and more.

A lanyard strap is also included, making the finished bunny perfect for taking with your child on the go!

We will provide the capes, so even if you are not good at sewing, children are welcome to join us.
